Since 1956, The Island Players have been a treasured part of Saint Simons Island and the Golden Isles community. Besides the excellent performances enjoyed by the audience, TIP provides area residents with the opportunity to act, sing, and learn stagecraft by auditioning for upcoming performances and volunteering to help perform some of the many unseen backstage services needed to support the show. TIP also provides an annual summer youth workshop that cumulates with a performance that provides young people valuable exposure and experience in theatre operations. As a 501c3 non-profit organization, TIP directs a portion of the annual profit towards scholarship awards to participants in our youth workshop program that are planning to pursue an approved post high school educational program. For shows, tickets are offered both online and at the theater ticket booth before the performance with reduced prices for students, seniors and service members.
