The Island Players Scholarship Award Program
The Island Players’ Board of Directors has established a scholarship fund to award and support the achievements
of those young people who have shown good character through dedication and service to the Island Players
over the years and who will be attending an accredited institution of higher learning.
Eligibility Requirements
- You must be a high school senior who has applied for admission to and intend to enroll in an
accredited college, university or performing arts/music school.
- Your grade point average must be a minimum of 3.0 and your combined SAT score must be
1100 or ACT score must be at least 18 or above.
- You must have participated in a minimum of 7 Island Payers productions (adult and summer)
in a significant manner either as a actor or member of the production team.
(back stage, lighting, scenery, sound).
Application Process
- You must complete an application form
- Two letters of recommendation are required, one at least from an Island Players member
who is familiar with your work. (References can be directly e-mailed)
- A one-page essay about what theater has meant to you.
- A high school transcript must be submitted. These are held in strict confidence.
This one-time award will be given to every student that meets the qualifications as stated above.
